Hiking in harem pants? Sure, of course! Why they are perfect companions
If when you think of hiking you think of trekking trousers with zips, functional shirts in gray and heavy hiking boots - then we have good news: there is another way. More colorful, lighter, more comfortable. And yes, even – or better: especially – in harem pants.
Because harem pants are not just comfortable for yoga or summer vacations - they are surprisingly practical everyday companions. Also on the hiking trail. Why? You can find out here.
1. Freedom of movement par excellence
Hiking means movement. Climbs, big steps, sometimes a hop over a root. This can quickly become uncomfortable in rigid jeans or tight-fitting sports leggings. Harem pants, on the other hand, offer you maximum freedom of movement. Their loose cut gives your legs room to breathe and move - without slipping or restricting you.
Especially ours paigh harem pants are cut so that they sit comfortably both on a leisurely walk and on more ambitious tours. And always look casual.
2. Airy & light – perfect for summer
Anyone who hikes in spring or summer knows: heat can be the biggest challenge. Heavy fabrics stick, tight cuts don't allow air to reach the skin. Harem pants made of viscose or cotton, on the other hand, are breathable, airy and pleasantly light.
At the same time, they protect you from direct sun without overheating. And: Unlike shorts, they prevent you from scratching your legs in tall grass or on stony paths. And if the weather gets wet? No problem – the light fabrics usually air dry surprisingly quickly.

3. Packed up quickly, hardly any weight
Many hikers love to pack light – whether on a multi-day tour or a day trip. Harem pants can be rolled up super small, weigh hardly anything and fit in any backpack. Also ideal as a change of pants for after the tour or as an extra layer when it gets cooler.
4. Travel sustainably
Our harem pants are produced fairly - under ethical conditions and with people and the environment in mind. The materials used, such as viscose, come from responsible forestry and are particularly skin-friendly. If you like being outside, sustainability is probably important to you anyway. Then fair harem pants fit your lifestyle perfectly – and the landscape you walk through.
5. Looks good – feels good
Hiking should not only be functional, but also enjoyable. And that starts with clothing. In colorful harem pants you feel comfortable, you show your personality and often even get into conversation. “Wow, where did you get those pants?” is a common question on the trail.
And the best thing: you don't have to change after the hike. Your pants also fit in the beer garden, with a picnic blanket or in the café.
6. Who are harem pants particularly suitable for when hiking?
Harem pants are made for everyone - regardless of body shape, gender identity or hiking level.
Whether you're an occasional hiker or explore new trails every weekend, harem pants adapt to your style and rhythm. They are particularly comfortable for people who find classic functional clothing uncomfortable, restrictive or too technical. They are also ideal for family hikes, spiritual retreats in nature or mindfulness walks.
Many of our customers report that they have their paigh harem pants have even worn them on pilgrimage routes such as the Way of St. James - with ease, style and a feeling of freedom. One customer wrote to us: "I never thought I would be hiking for days in such light pants - but they were my absolute favorite. No pressure, no sweating, just comfortable." ## Still unsure? Then here are a few tried and tested tips to get you started:
• For longer tours, choose a model with a firm waistband (not too wide) so that nothing slips.
• Combine with sturdy hiking boots or sandals with treads – depending on the route.
• If you're walking through tall grass, look for a model without open leg cuffs.
• In cooler weather, you can layer leggings or thin thermal pants underneath.
