paigh & the Sustainable Development Goals
paigh stands for fair, colorful fashion that not only looks good, but also does good. Our goal is to continually make our processes more sustainable and to take responsibility for people and the planet. We are guided by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – 17 goals for a better future.
Find out how paigh actively contributes to five key SDGs:
Goal 1: No poverty
Fighting poverty means creating fair economic opportunities for everyone. Our close collaboration with Fair Trade certified manufacturers ensures that everyone involved along the production chain receives living wages. This enables our partners to have a stable income that offers their families access to education, healthcare and a better standard of living.
Goal 2: Quality education
Education is the key to a sustainable future. Through our fair trade partnerships, we support programs for the training and further education of workers - be it through training in sustainable textile processing or educational opportunities for their children. By entering into long-term collaborations, we help future generations to have better prospects for the future.
Goal 3: Gender equality
Women play a central role in the textile industry. We work with manufacturers that not only pay women fairly but also actively support them. Many of our production partners focus on equality by putting women in leadership positions and enabling them to be financially independent. In this way, we contribute to creating economic opportunities for women and reducing existing inequalities.
Goal 4: Decent Work & Economic Growth
Sustainable fashion not only means environmentally friendly materials, but also decent work. We rely on fair wages, safe working conditions and long-term partnerships. By working with Fair Trade certified manufacturers, we promote sustainable economic development and offer prospects for entire communities.
Goal 5: Sustainable consumption & production
Our responsibility does not end with fair working conditions - the environment is also important to us. We rely on sustainable materials such as organic cotton and avoid overproduction through timeless designs and long-lasting quality. We are also continually working to make packaging more environmentally friendly and to minimize the ecological footprint of our products.
Our path is not perfect, but we are constantly working to become more and more sustainable.
