Our materials
viscose
With the viscose we used for our harem pants, we've found a material that's not only incredibly comfortable, soft, and lightweight, but also offers other ecological benefits. Viscose is a semi-synthetic fiber made from cellulose, which is obtained from wood and therefore a renewable resource. Viscose also uses no petroleum and no pesticides in its production. Furthermore, the water and energy requirements, as well as the land use, are lower than with other materials like conventional cotton.
In addition, and despite the trust we have in our producer, we regularly have samples of our fabrics tested for harmful and unwanted substances in an independent laboratory in Germany in order to guarantee that they are free from harmful substances.
Viscose is a fabric made from renewable raw materials, with minimal use of resources and pesticides. It's also very comfortable and practical, as it takes up little space and dries extremely quickly. Our enchanting, colorful patterns are the icing on the cake.
organic cotton
Cotton has long been a popular fabric for clothing due to its compelling properties. Cotton is soft, skin-friendly, and durable. It's easy to care for, breathable, highly absorbent, and lightweight. Furthermore, cotton is a natural fiber and therefore a renewable resource.
Unfortunately, a full 25% of the global use of artificial pesticides is attributable to the cultivation and use of conventional cotton. We believe this is clearly too high. However, because we don't want to forgo the numerous benefits of this natural fiber, we have opted for organic cotton.
Organic cotton is grown ecologically and without the use of pesticides and fertilizers. This is advantageous because these chemicals not only pollute the soil, air, and water, but also harm the health of the workers.
In addition, growing organic cotton requires less than half the energy required for conventional cotton.
The high water consumption of conventional cotton is also problematic. The advantage of organic cotton is that it requires 88% less water than conventional cotton because it relies primarily on rainwater.
elastane
Elastane is a stretchy synthetic fiber made largely of polyurethane. It's a popular blended fiber, meaning it's not typically used in its pure form, but rather added to other fibers in small amounts. This makes the fabrics elastic and shape-retaining. We use elastane in a few of our tops to ensure stretch and a perfect fit.
Unfortunately, the production of elastane requires non-renewable resources and a lot of energy. We're aware that this makes the fiber less sustainable. Unfortunately, there's currently a lack of sustainable alternatives to elastane, which is why we can't completely eliminate the use of this synthetic fiber. Until then, we're trying to keep the use of elastane in our garments as low as possible and only use certified elastane. Our long-term goal, however, is definitely to use only natural and renewable raw materials.
Ecovero
Ecovero fibers are obtained from certified, renewable wood sources and manufactured using an environmentally friendly production process that significantly reduces CO₂ emissions and water consumption compared to conventional methods. The manufacturing process has been awarded the EU Ecolabel, confirming its low environmental impact.
Manufactured with exceptionally resource-efficient materials, Ecovero focuses on efficient use of energy and water. The wood used comes from sustainable forestry and contributes to the preservation of forests and the promotion of biodiversity. This minimizes environmental impact and makes a valuable contribution to protecting our planet.
In addition to its ecological benefits, Ecovero also offers exceptional comfort. The fibers are exceptionally soft, breathable, and skin-friendly—ideal for clothing that's comfortable to wear all day long.
Our Ecovero pants are not only durable but also easy to care for. They retain their shape and color even after frequent washing—perfect for everyday wear!
