Our factory in Portugal
Our organic cotton garments come from a factory in Barcelos, a city in northern Portugal. The textile industry in Portugal has a long tradition, which means there is a wealth of experience - fortunately also with regard to sustainability. Our partner producer, with whom we have teamed up, has state-of-the-art machines and resource-saving processing methods. For example, only organic quality fabrics are used for the fashion pieces produced for paigh. The fashion pieces are produced in a water-saving manner and with significantly reduced CO₂ emissions. The relationships with the workers and partners, like us, are also very important and are based on mutual respect, trust and mutual support.
The production facility is SEDEX certified. These seals ensure that important social and ecological requirements for working conditions, health and environmental protection, and ethical business practices are met. It has also been awarded the Standard 100 label from OEKO-TEX®. The seal guarantees that the clothing items are harmless to health by checking every component of the item for harmful substances.
In addition, the company is audited according to the internationally recognized SMETA standard, ensuring a transparent and fair supply chain. We are also particularly proud of our support of sustainable initiatives such as the SEAQUAL™ INITIATIVE, which is committed to protecting our oceans. New high-quality textile fibers are obtained from marine waste - a further step towards environmentally conscious production that we are committed to taking.
