Our production
Our factory in Thailand
The majority of our paigh garments are manufactured in a small, family-run factory in the heart of Thailand. We place great emphasis on a pleasant working environment, a positive working atmosphere, personal standards, and individual development. Some of our tailors also work from home in the surrounding villages, allowing them to spend more time with their families and contribute to their livelihoods. Unfortunately, not many people in Thailand get this opportunity. That's why we support our producers wherever we can and promote this great model together with you.
Our efforts to promote fair working conditions, environmental protection, and fair trade in Thailand have finally been recognized by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO). This organization is committed, among other things, to supporting socially and economically disadvantaged minorities. Since the end of 2019, we have been granted the status “Guaranteed Fair Trade Member” wear, which we are very proud of.
Handmade accessories with attention to detail
Our accessories are created in ongoing collaboration with local Thai artists and contemporary designers. With loving details and creative ideas, they create unique products with a traditional background. Here, traditional craftsmanship is combined with modern influences, and we are delighted to help the artists bring their amazing work to the world. We are proud to offer unique accessories, bags, wallets, and much more, and to support and promote our partners with every product.
Quality and design of our fashion pieces
paigh's commitment to quality begins with the selection of fabrics for our trousers, scarves, skirts, kimonos, and jumpsuits. Only the most beautiful patterns and the highest quality make it to our tailors, where they are cut and lovingly handcrafted. In collaboration, the models and cuts are further developed, improved, and adapted to our customers' wishes. For example, we use special sewing techniques to make the seams more robust and attractive, employ more elaborate edge finishes, and pay great attention to detail in every step of the process.
On this page you will find further information about the fabrics and materials we use.
A happy coexistence
paigh stands not only for colorful and fair fashion, but also for social diversity and openness. The employees in Thailand come from four different continents, and seven different languages are spoken in the workshops. With this diverse gathering of people from all over the world, we want to welcome the diversity and opportunities of the entire world at paigh as well. Here, everyone should have the opportunity for a fairly paid job, security, and opportunities for development, regardless of their origin. Even people who have been disadvantaged or neglected for political or religious reasons are offered the opportunity to improve their lives through a secure job. It is often difficult or impossible for people in these disadvantaged regions to find a job. Through paigh, you can gain experience, develop skills, and make contacts, as well as gain universal benefits for your future (professional) life. These special features not only positively shape the working atmosphere, but also make the workplace an exciting, creative and progressive place for everyone involved.
Working together and supporting
The support we offer our employees in Thailand at paigh is truly special. We actively encourage our employees' creative development and growth. Interested employees can attend workshops to develop their design and creative skills, expanding their capabilities and learning new things. Another exceptional offering is English classes, which take place three times a week. The linguistic, business, technical, and social skills we develop at paigh provide our Thai employees with significant advantages throughout their lives.
Our production facility in Portugal
Our organic cotton garments come from a factory in Barcelos, a city in northern Portugal. Portugal's textile industry has a long tradition, which means it has a wealth of experience – fortunately, also in terms of sustainability. Our partner producer, with whom we have partnered, has state-of-the-art machinery and resource-efficient processing methods. For example, they only use organic fabrics for the fashion pieces produced for paigh. The fashion pieces are produced using water-efficient methods and with significantly reduced CO2 emissions. The relationships with the workers and partners, like us, are also very important and are based on mutual respect, trust, and mutual support.
The production facility is SEDEX-certified. These seals ensure that important social and environmental requirements regarding working conditions, health and environmental protection, and ethical business practices are met. Furthermore, it is awarded the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label. This seal guarantees the health safety of the garments by testing all components of the items for harmful substances.
