How you can wear and combine our scarves and bandanas – tips & tricks

Are you waiting with anticipation for your paigh order and already thinking about how to style your new clothes? Your beautiful shawl is used, but is only used as a picnic blanket because you don't know how best to wear or wrap it? Here you will find answers, tips and lots of inspiration.

Styling bandanas and scarves

After a few general recommendations, I would like to focus again in particular on the different wrapping techniques so that you can develop concrete ideas about how you can style and use your scarf or bandana. Let's start! :)

Basic tips

If you like, our bandanas are basically smaller versions of our scarves . This means that they can be used in a similar way. While a bandana looks particularly good on your head, a scarf gives you significantly more styling and usage options. The most popular looks you can create with a scarf are a dress (halter neck or off the shoulder), a skirt, and a turban/headband (you can find out exactly how to achieve these looks in the “Scarves: Wrapping Techniques” section below Styles”.

Since the scarves and bandanas are patterned and rather eye-catching due to their colors, it is generally advisable to combine the fabrics with white, black, gray or nude-colored clothing . This means your bright scarf remains the focus of your outfit and at the same time it doesn't look too overloaded. Tops, pants, shoes or accessories that pick up the detail colors of your scarf or bandana also make your paigh garment shine and accentuate it.
Did you know that there are matching shorts and harem pants that go with our bandanas? For example, if you wear the “Green Mandala” bandana , you could best combine it with the “Green Mandala” shorts and a black or white top. Add some sandals or sneakers and voilà, you've put together a pretty outfit!

Shawls: wrapping techniques and styles

Now let's get down to business: the wrapping techniques. The following are written step-by-step instructions that you can hopefully follow easily. You will then find a link to a video in which the respective wrapping technique is demonstrated again.

For the turban and hairband, if you have longer hair, it is a good idea to put it up in a high ponytail or topknot before wrapping it. After you've tied your scarf, you can undo the braid and drape it however you like (or leave your hair up!).

Turban:

  1. Gather your paigh cloth narrowly along the long side.
  2. Twist the cloth a few times to make it thinner.
  3. Hold the ends of the scarf and place it around the back of your head.
  4. Bring the ends forward and fold them over twice at the front of the forehead to create a knot.
  5. Bring the ends back and tie them together behind your head.
  6. Loosen the bun, your bangs, or a few strands of hair to suit your turban.

  4. Bring the ends together at the back of your head and knot them.
  5. Place one end of the towel forward and let the other end fall onto your back.
  6. Now you can open and straighten your hair.

Skirt:

  1. Grab your paigh cloth by two corners and hold it behind you at waist level.
  2. Hold the ends together at the side and adjust the length of your skirt. If you want to create a rather short skirt, it may be a good idea to fold the cloth in half at the beginning.
  3. Once you are happy with the length of the skirt, grab the ends and pull them into “strings” by twisting them around a few times and pulling them out.
  4. Either you knot the skirt on this side, or you bring the long ends to the other side and knot them there.
  5. Smooth the skirt at the waistband and leg slit.

Halter dress:

  2. Grab the ends and pull them into “strings” by twisting and stretching them a few times.
  3. Cross the ends twice to create a nice knot.
  4. Twist the ends until nice straps are created.
  5. Tie these together at the back of your neck.

Cloths: What else you can do with them

In our opinion, your scarf looks most beautiful on your body. Nevertheless, over time it turned out that the cloths can also be used for other things.

If you want to make your living space more comfortable, you can attach the cloth (half or spread out) to your wall . This brings warmth into the room and can also help, for example, to reduce reverberation in the room.

A paigh cloth also works great as a canopy over your bed !

If the color of your cloth matches your couch, it can also serve as a protective cover by draping the cloth over your couch (cats love the soft fabric of the cloth...).

Last but not least, a paigh scarf is of course also suitable as a simple scarf or as a picnic blanket in summer. :)

Do you have any other ideas on how to repurpose our paigh cloth? If so, please let us know in the comments!

Bandanas: wrapping techniques and possible uses

The bandanas can be tied in a similar way to the scarves in a hairband or turban style. The only difference is that the bandanas are not that big. This means there is less material left in the end; the ends are shorter and the result is “thinner” so it feels lighter on your head.

If you have longer hair, try out whether you like your style better with your hair down or up. Both are possible!

Bandana – knot at the back (hair band variant):

  1. Gather your paigh cloth narrowly on one side.
  2. Hold the ends of the scarf and place it over your ears and around the back of your head.
  3. Tie the ends together behind your head.
  4. Loosen the bun, your bangs, or some strands of hair to get the look you want.

Bandana – knot at the front (wide turban version):

  1. Gather your paigh cloth narrowly on one side.
  2. Hold the ends of the scarf and place it at the front of your hairline so that the ends point towards the back of your head.
  3. Place the scarf over your ears and cross the ends at the back of your head once and then bring them forward again.
  4. Tie a knot in the middle of your forehead “on” the first layer of fabric to secure the fit of your bandana.
  5. Loosen your bangs or some strands of hair to achieve your desired look.

Bandana – knot at the front (narrow turban version):

  1. Gather your paigh cloth narrowly on one side.
  2. Hold the ends of the scarf and place it over your ears and around the back of your head.
  3. Bring the ends forward and tie a double knot.
  4. Tie the fabric of the bandana apart a little at the back of the head so that the cloth becomes wider there and thus enables a firmer hold.
  5. Loosen your bangs or some strands of hair to achieve your desired look.

If you don't want to wear your bandana as a classic bandana, you can also use it as a collar (it also looks super cute on dogs) or attach it to your handbag as a colorful accessory to create an individual look. This means you always have a cloth with you and can use it in many different ways when needed!
