    Oat milk is perfect for muesli and ice cream, for baking, smoothies and shakes, and even in coffee. Oat flakes, which form the basis of oat milk, contain valuable fiber, vitamins, minerals, and protein and can even help prevent heart disease. The oat milk we're making together today is approximately 100% oat milk. Keeps in the refrigerator for three daysTherefore, during production, care should be taken to only produce as much as can be consumed in the foreseeable future.     The process is really simple and takes barely ten minutes. All you need (besides the ingredients) is a blender or immersion blender, a bowl, a cheesecloth or thin kitchen towel, and an airtight container. Once you have all the tools, you're ready to go!

    Recipe: Make your own oat milk

    Ingredients for 1 liter

    1 L water

    60 g Oatmeal*

    2-3 dates (alternatively 3 tablespoons date syrup or 2 tablespoons maple syrup)

    1 pinch of salt

    ½ tsp vanilla or cinnamon (optional)

    *Large-leaf oats are best soaked in water for a few minutes beforehand to make them easier to process. Fine-leaf oats require no further preparation.

    Tools: Kitchen scales, stand or hand blender, bowl, muslin cloth, container (z.B. a sealable glass bottle)

    1. Combine the water and oats and stir briefly. Add the dates, salt, and vanilla.
    2. Mix everything well with a mixer for one to two minutes until a milk-like consistency is achieved.
    3. Strain the pureed mixture through cheesecloth into a bowl to separate the liquid from the oat residue.
    4. Pour the oat milk into a bottle and store it in the refrigerator.

    Preparation time: 5-10 minutes

    Nutritional information per serving*: approx. 74 kcal | 12.7 g carbohydrates | 2.1 g protein | 1.1 g fat

    *1 serving = 250 ml
